We Make History Not Money

Proyectos Raul Zamudio is a itinerant exhibition space based in New York. It has presented exhibtions in the Americas, Asia, and Europe at art fairs, galleries, and alternative art spaces. It aims to showcase artworks in a variety of media that expands the discourse of art and contemproary culture within a myriad of contexts affecting the world we live in across geopoltical borders. We're happy to welcome new visitors and loyal regulars to all of our exhibitions and events in New York and around the world. Our motto is:' We Make History, Not Money.   

Biography

Raul Zamudio is a Mexico-born, New York City-based independent curator,  scholar, and arts writer. They have curated or co-curated 145 group and solo exhibitions in the Americas, Asia, and Europe including curator, "Fish Story," Contempo: International Contemporary Art Festival, Varna, Bulgaria, 2016; curator, "The Lady with the X-Ray Eyes," Contempo: International Contemporary Art Festival, Varna, Bulgaria, 2014; co-curator, "Here Is Where We Jump!," La Bienal 2013, El Museo Del Barrio, NY, NY;  co-curator,  "City Without Walls," 2010 Liverpool Biennial; co-curator, "Constellations": 2009 Beijing 798 Biennial; co-curator, "Turn and Widen": 2008 Seoul International Media Art Biennial; artistic director/curator, "Garden of Delights": 2008 Yeosu International Art Festival; and co-curator, "Poles Apart, Poles Together," 2005 Venice Biennial. More than 200 of their texts have been published including authoring, co-authoring, or contributing to 88 art-related books and exhibition catalogs; many of their publications have been translated into other languages: Bulgarian, Chinese, Finnish, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Lithuanian, Polish, Portuguese, and Spanish. They are Corresponding Editor, Art Nexus, was U.S. Correspondent for Flash Art, and other writings appear in numerous periodicals including Contemporary, TRANS, Zingmagazine, Journal of the West, Tema Celeste, Art in Culture, Art Map, [Art Notes], MAG, La Tempestad, Framework: The Finnish Art Review, and Public Art. They studied art history at the C.U.N.Y Graduate Center, Columbia University, and the Institute of Fine Arts, NYU; and were a Helena Rubenstein Fellow in Critical Studies, Whitney Museum of American Art Independent Study Program.
